NORTHERN IRELAND
The Project
My personal branding was one of my first projects I ever did at University, since then it's changed a-lot over time. After graduating I tasked myself with once again refreshing this.
The Process
The primary logo monogram is a combination of my initials ‘C’ and ‘O’. Previous iterations of this monogram were sharp and rectangular, I wanted this version to be more modern and friendly in feel.
Creating the monogram began with lot’s of paper based sketches, I narrowed these down to 8 options to bring onto screen. This was a very important part of the process as what can look good on paper doesn’t always translated well when it’s digitalised. The highlighted logo was the most favoured however it was still very angular. I took this and rounded it which iterated into the final logo you see now.
The Process
In addition to the brand logo/monogram I created a more minimal icon. The concept behind this was to have my monogram as my official representation, the icon is for use when needed displayed in a smaller size or for casual uses. Normally within a branding project I would stick to the one but I wanted to add a slightly more playful feel to a relatively modest brand design.
The Overview
In conclusion I’m happy the new brand represents me well. Most importantly the brand is simple and understandable, seeing the 'C' and 'O' in both the monogram and icon. Introducing more colour to the brand will bring business cards to life and other places the brand is represented such as on my social media.
